Dear Editor: First off, congratulations to the new (mostly returnees) council and new Mayor on their victories, thank you for stepping up and serving our city.

There is a rather disheartening trend in voting for our elected officials. In the recent Saskatchewan election 445,011 votes were cast from among 820,844 registered voters, or 52.86 per cent, according to Elections Saskatchewan.

When a new game comes out with everything about it screaming that it is a very old, rather vintage one, it鈥檚 generally a win 鈥� especially for an abstract strategy game. That is where old wooden games shine.

As a child of the fifties and sixties, I grew up surrounded by haunting echoes of WWII. I heard them while huddling under my covers, every time the 1 a.m. shift siren wailed from the pipe mill at the end of Murray Street. My street.

Thank You, Outlook When I was first notified by the Town about having a street renamed Tollefson Drive, I was in disbelief. Never in my wildest imagination did I dream of having a street bearing my name. I could never have imagined such an honour.

Some of my absolute favorite assignments in the 13 years and change that I鈥檝e been writing for this fine publication have been speaking with those who had the courage and the fortitude to serve this great country in times of combat.
