Dear Editor: Cereals Canada calls on all Members of Parliament and Senators to work together to quickly pass the amended version of C-49 into law. Cereals Canada appreciates the work that has been done on this important piece of legislation.

Dear Editor: The Canadian Federation of Agriculture and its members representing prairie farmers today sent an open letter to Members of Parliament asking them to pass Bill C-49 (Transportation Modernization Act) as amended by the Senate last month.

Before I get rolling with this week鈥檚 column, I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who has passed on their words of congratulations on my award win this past weekend, whether it was in person or through texts or messages on social media.

It鈥檚 obvious no one likes to see their tax bill going up. But, it is more palatable when the results are generally positive. For taxpayers in Yorkton they seem to be seeing the two-sides of that coin.
