It seems every year editors in newspapers around the world sit down at this time of year to pen their editorials and thoughts turn to the concept of peace on earth and good will to man.

I really thought about what to write in my last column of the year.

The third candle in the advent wreath, the pink one, represents joy. Not the passing gladness of the season, but the joy Jesus came to bring. Freeing. Stabilizing. Soul-lifting. Permanent.

I never thought I鈥檇 see the day where a Thor movie earned more laughs than a Guardians of the Galaxy film, but here we are. What a time to be alive.

As Christmas draws near, do you find that certain foods remind you so much of the holidays? The smells of Christmas include cinnamon and cloves and ginger, but the tastes of Christmas might include almonds.

Typically, I gravitate to abstract strategy board games. I like the one-on-one competitive nature of most games in the genre, and the lack of luck as well. The less dice I have to roll, or cards to draw in a game, usually the better.
