Let鈥檚 make a cup of tea, and I鈥檒l tell you about a great gardening book I鈥檓 reading. It鈥檚 called 鈥淏est Garden Plants for Saskatchewan and Manitoba鈥� by Patricia Hanbridge and Laura Peters.

I鈥檓 no financial expert and some of the things I will write about are, likely, rebutted quite easily but I think more of an explanation is owed to Saskatchewan people in light of the rank budget dumped on us last week.

Like everyone in the province, rural Saskatchewan took a solid hit on budget day. Maybe it wasn鈥檛 the hit for farmers some thought it would be. But make no mistake, farmers, too, took a big hit.

Premier Brad Wall and the Saskatchewan Party may well have secured a place in the provincial history books after delivering what has to be seen as one of the most austere budgets in the last half century.
