Welcome to Week CLXXVI of 鈥楩ishing Parkland Shorelines鈥�. Like most of us I am a novice fisherman, loving to fish, but far from an expert.

We have long known that water ice, large amounts of it, exists on Mars. We have also long known that billions of years ago, the red planet was much more blue with flowing rivers, large lakes, maybe even oceans.

The federal leaders鈥� debate on the economy focused on important issues 鈥� jobs, deficits, infrastructure spending, pipelines, climate change 鈥� but no one talked about a different vision for Canada鈥檚 economy.

I am afraid the next disgraceful chapter in Canadian history may already be in the writing. While it is incumbent upon politicians to represent their constituencies, a real leader takes a principled position, he does not pander to populist bigotry.
