Preeceville Lions Western Weekend is scheduled to have many events for everyone on July 11, 12 and 13.

PREECEVILLE — The Preeceville and District Lions Club welcomes back its annual Western Weekend, which is set for July 11, 12 and 13.

"We are pulling out all the stops with continuing the tradition of chuck-wagon and chariot races by the Eastern Chuck wagon and Chariot Association. The Etomaime Valley Riders Club will be sponsoring a two-day gymkhana followed by plenty of activities for everyone,” said Ralph Ager, chairperson.

Kicking off the weekend on Friday will be a Texas hold-em tournament, followed by an outdoor movie featuring Captain America: Brave New World.

Saturday attractions will be a car show and shine, mini trade show, arm wrestling, bingo, bouncy castle for children, beer gardens, beach volleyball tournament, and a Saturday night dance with Saddles and Steel providing the entertainment. an coed slow-pitch tournament is also being held and concludes with fireworks.

Sunday will feature a pancake breakfast and a Christian Cowboy service.

Plane rides, a petting zoo, bingo under the big tent, and Magic J, a magician, will be available on both days.

"The club’s red barn unit will be used as an ice-cream booth as it has a power outlet," said Ager.
