GERWING: ALBERTIt is with great sadness that the family announces the death of ALBERT (SONNY) GERWING JR, on November 15, 2011 at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon with his family at his side.

In its September edition, Saskatchewan Business Magazine recognized the province's Top 100 companies of 2011. Four businesses from the region were on the list.

One of Humboldt's own has been awarded one of the highest honours in the Canadian military.

Over 40 volunteers came out to help sort materials and pack boxes for the SaskTel's We See You container in Humboldt on the morning of November 5.

Three local volleyball teams from the Humboldt area showed their skill over the weekend. Muenster School hosted the Junior B Boys Volleyball Districts on November 5. "It was a four-team tournament," said Chad Hofmann, coach of the Muenster Cougars.

MICHAEL "Mike" BUNKO June 5th, 1929 - October 31st, 2011 Mike, beloved husband of Darlene, passed away at Humboldt and District Hospital on Monday, October 31st, 2011 at the age of 82.

Two Humboldt Broncos earned honours from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for their performance on the ice in October. Forward Andrew Johnston, a new member of the Broncos this year, was named the SJHL Player of the Month.
