It's an unexpected honour. Richard Muench of Muenster is one of the six individuals and one team in the community being inducted into the Humboldt Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. "I'm happy about it," said Muench of the honour.

Broncos trample Melfort Mustangs

A wide margin. That's what the Humboldt Broncos beat the Melfort Mustangs by in their Thanksgiving weekend showdown in Melfort. The Broncos travelled to the Northern Lights Palace in Melfort on October 8, and walked away with a 7-2 win.

Here's to the little things

For many years, on Thanksgiving, I've given thanks for the big things in life: for my family and friends that I love, that we have enough food to eat, that we have roofs over our heads, and a great country to live in - that sort of thing.

It was a beautiful day to raise the roof. The rafters were installed on the new Englefeld Fire Hall on September 29, thanks to the use of a crane from Mollenbeck Industries Ltd., and some volunteer labour from local firefighters.
