Quilters celebrate 40 years

The Battleford Quilters celebrated their 40th anniversary last week with a come and go tea at the Alex Dillabough Centre. Formed on March 6, 1974, the group enjoys the traditional art of hand-quilting.

Ten members of the Battlefords Art Club worked at the Don Ross Centre Tuesday. Plans are underway for their trip to Saskatoon Oct. 7 for a galleries tour. Members are working to get ready for their fall exhibition at the Chapel Gallery Oct.

Fall brings a new round of activities

The summer has gone quickly for us and we are now looking forward to fall activities. This month we have a entertainment lined up beginning with the Nifty Fifties singing Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. and on Sept. 16 at 7 p.m.

Shiloh Church visited by 180 over the summer

Recently a friend and I took a drive out to Shiloh Church and cemetery. This church was built in 1911 by a group of black people who had relocated from Oklahoma, U.S.A.

New students on the Waseca school bus

Manitou Evangelical Free Church in Neilburg hosted their Weird Animals Vacation Bible School Aug. 18-22. Sixty-six children attended during the week, with an average attendance of 55 a day.
