What a beautiful day for the Village of Ruddell's 110th annual July 1 picnic. Over 80 people attended. They were entertained with horse rides from Tom Pain with his Clydesdale horses; not only the children were enjoying the rides, so were the adults.

Dr. Larry Stoyko, who was the physician at the Borden Union Hospital for a few years, passed away June 1 at Didsbury, Alta., at the age of 61. Dr. Stoyko is survived by his wife Olga, daughters Carrie and Gillian, their spouses and three grandsons.

We haven't had much thunder yet this summer, but Sunday we had a number of thundershowers. There was still plenty of moisture from last week's rains so today's showers just slowed down the weeding process in gardens.
