Canoeing on the Battle River appears to be a popular recreation. Recently at least two groups have canoed from the Lashburn bridge to the Waseca bridge.

Sunday the sun was shinning with temperatures expected to rise to the mid-20. The last number of days we have experienced heavy rains leaving the ground saturated making it impossible to do field or garden work.

This past week saw Meota and the area around the lake tormented by Mother Nature. On both Monday night and again Tuesday evening she attacked with fury, throwing rain and wind at us.

Smokey the Bear visited the North Battleford Library last week. Before Smokey came out to give all the kids a big bear hug, Walter Matieyshen from wildfire management in Prince Albert told the kids a bit about fire safety.

It was a long drive - three hours each way, and about 575 kilometres, but like the Battleford Furniture commercials say, "The difference was worth the drive!" We left home on a Monday morning at about 7 a.m.
