Slo-pitch tourney draws 16 teams

The weather seems to be helping out the spring seeding and garden causes. This weekend the ball diamond hosted the 17th annual Miners slo-pitch. Weather held out for a change. Sixteen teams participated for a $2,400 cash payout.

The Waseca Community Centre annual meeting is coming up at 7:30 p.m. June 7 at the centre. There will be financial and activity reports. The committee is looking forward to reinforcement to help better the community and provide more services.
Bready School opened in 1960

Bready School opened in 1960

Bready School was the last elementary school to be built in North Battleford and is now 50 years old. It opened its doors in 1960 with four teachers and a caretaker staffing the school.
