Beauval RCMP pursue shooting suspects; drone and dog used

Police say officers pursued a suspect vehicle for approximately 30 minutes. The occupants threw items from it as it was moving.

A man was taken to hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

CANOE LAKE CREE NATION - A man was taken to hospital and two people were charged with aggravated assault and weapons charges after Beauval RCMP received a report of a shooting on Canoe Lake Cree First Nation.

The report came in April 27 at approximately 12:45 a.m. Officers responded and located an adult male with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

  • flight from peace officer;
  • dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;
  • resist/obstruct peace officer;
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm;
  • possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle;
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and
  • pointing a firearm, Section 87(1), Criminal Code;
