Brent Salzl scored twice and added two assists for the Beaver Blues as Battleford beat the Radisson Wheatkings 7-3 at the Battleford Arena Wednesday night. The Beaver Blues are 3-1-1 in their last five games.

Wilkie pushes win streak to six

The Wilkie Outlaws won all three games last weekend to push their winning streak to six in the NSRHL. The Outlaws (13-1) dominated the Turtleford Tigers 12-1 Friday night in Wilkie. Mitch Suchan led Wilkie with two goals and four assists.

AA Barons win home tournament

The Battleford Atom AA Barons defended home ice last weekend. The Barons won the A side championship of the Battleford Atom AA Barons Tier 1 Tournament at the Battleford Arena.

Medstead senior boys volleyball awarded sportsmanship banner

The Medstead senior boys' volleyball team had a great end to an amazing year. After winning the gold medal at the 1A provincial championship in Colonsay, the team was nominated for the sportsmanship banner from the SHSAA.

Last weekend was a busy one in the SPHL with seven games taking place between Jan. 10 and 12. There were two games Friday night. The Cut Knife Colts beat the Mustangs 10-6 in Hafford. The Colts were led by Kirk MacDonald's hat trick.

Broncos forced to cancel game after pipe bursts at EPA

Thanks to a busted pipe under the ice at the Elgar Petersen Arena, the Humboldt Broncos' game against the Melfort Mustangs, scheduled for Jan. 12, was cancelled. The game will be rescheduled to a later date.
