The City of North Battleford is looking into a possible bid for hosting the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games.

Arnold Mueller's lifetime in curling has earned him a major award. On April 27 Mueller was inducted into the Saskatchewan Curling Association's Legends of Curling Honour Roll.

It was a classic battle of the Battlefords on the flats Wednesday night when the Bantam Bandits went home victorious over the Midget Bandits. The Battlefords Ladies' Fastball League game ended in a 7-2 final, but the score was deceiving in this one.

After a three week delay due to the late spring, the New Horizons got to play golf on May 13. It was finally a lovely sunny day in the mid-20s with a light breeze and nine teams came out on the opening day.

The North Battleford Beavers are set to sink their cleats back into the sand next week, and expectations are high.

Rivers West District for Sport, Culture and Recreation recognized the athletes who participated in the Saskatchewan Seniors Fitness Association 55+ District, Provincial and Canada Games at their annual awards banquet heldApril 24 in Neilburg.

With the late spring it seemed like green grass would never make an appearance in the Battlefords, but now that the warm weather is here it marks the beginning of another lawn bowling season.

Oh, the clank of horseshoes. Spring must be here! The Battlefords Horseshoe Club have begun their season of play this week and are looking forward to an exciting season starting with the first tournament of the season at Manitou Beach on May 18.

The Town of Battleford will be looking into getting some more visibility for its attractions, starting with the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, through highway signs like those seen in other communities.

It will not be long until the 12-team North Saskatchewan River Baseball League returns for another season. The league returns to action with a slate of four games Tuesday, May 21.
