Athletes bring home provincial medals, great results

Hundreds of athletes gathered in Saskatoon for the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association's provincial track and field championship on the weekend.

Just two weeks remain in the Battlefords and District Ladies' Fastball League and then it is playoffs at the Flats. This week, the Maidstone Iron Maidens won twice, as they beat the Battlefords Bantam Bandits at the Flats by a 7-3 score.

Heading into North Saskatchewan River Baseball League action Thursday evening, three of the four teams from Lloydminster held the top three spots in the standings.

District Track and Field results

The Horizon Central Athletic Association held District Track and Field Championships on May 22 and May 29. Districts were scheduled for May 22 in Saskatoon but were rained out. Events continued on May 29 in Humboldt.

It was a great weekend for high school track and field athletes. Provincial Track and Field Championships were held in Saskatoon June 1-2. Fourteen Horizon Central Athletic Association athletes won 17 individual medals - including five gold medals.
