The Blaine Lake Skate Club held its end-of-season skating show March 4 at the Blaine Lake skating arena with skaters from Leask, Marcelin and Blaine Lake.

The Blaine Lake Community Association hosted its 15th annual Farmers' Bonspiel the week of Feb. 21 to 26. Many curling and spectator commuters enjoyed the unusually mild weather conditions as they travelled daily for curling.

The Battlefords Bantam AA Barons had the most tied games during the regular season with six. Come playoff time, there are no ties and the Barons and Humboldt Broncos were forced to play on until a winner was decided.

Three games in five nights and finally the teams in the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League championship series have been determined.

They are on their way to provincials. The North Battleford Comprehensive High School wrestling team traveled to Prince Albert for a regional tournament on the weekend.

Urgency is setting in for the Battlefords North Stars. The North Stars fell behind 3-1 in the series after losing 5-3 in Nipawin Tuesday and now are one game away from elimination.
