SASKATOON — Saskatchewan’s biggest downtown summer party is about to get even bigger.

The Hudsons Block Party is expanding to introduce the Saskatoon Block Party, bringing Brett Kissel to the stage on Wednesday, July 16, and Shawnee Kish on Thursday, July 17.

“It’s a downtown event, so you get all the convenience of staying in the city — hotels, amenities, no tents or muddy fields,” Hudsons Canada’s Pub operating partner, Greg Clark, said.

“The growth has been incredible. From two days to now four full days of action, we’re bringing in headlining talent like Brett Kissel and Shawnee Kish, along with a strong mix of local Canadian acts.”

This year, the Block Party isn’t just growing — it’s tipping its hat to the people who grow everything else. In partnership with Harvard Media, the event is kicking off with a theme to celebrate the hardworking farmers who are the backbone of Saskatchewan.

“Farmers work hard, and it’s time to raise a glass to that dedication,” said Kim Diller, a market sales manager at Harvard Media. “Whether you run the land or just love the people who do, this is your invite to the ultimate farmer-fueled bash.”

Picture this: 2,000 guests, live music, cold drinks and downtown energy — all right in the middle of Saskatoon. This is the biggest outdoor Ag party downtown Saskatoon has ever seen.

Leading the promotion of this event is Harvard Media’s agriculture online brand, . and are helping spread the word across the province, rallying the rural crowd, and is bringing the throwback hits to keep the party moving.

Originally launched seven years ago as a grassroots gathering with a few tables and a basketball tournament, the Saskatoon Block Party has evolved into a full-scale outdoor pub and music festival. With support from the City of Saskatoon, DTNYXE, Saskatoon Police Service, and a roster of sponsors including Harvard Media’s Â鶹´«Ã½AV.ca, , the Block Party has become a one-of-a-kind celebration made for Saskatoon — and built by the people who live here.
