The safety of this community is of utmost importance to the Town of Assiniboia.

Based on recommendations from government and public health officials on the COVID-19 pandemic, SIGA’s leadership has made the decision to temporarily suspend all SIGA operations for the next two weeks, at which time they will re-assess the situation.

All Western Development Museum locations in Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Saskatoon and Yorkton are closed to the public effective Tuesday, March 17 due to the COVID-19 virus.

Â鶹´«Ã½AVeast College released a class cancellation update effective on Sunday, March 15, 2020. All classes will be adjourned for the week of March 16-20 for Adult Basic Education in Piapot Valley, located on Piapot First Nation.

The Government of Saskatchewan announced all classes in Saskatchewan’s pre-K-12 schools will be suspended indefinitely, effective March 20, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. For the period of March 16 to March 19, pre-K-12 classes will wind down.

The Â鶹´«Ã½AVland Co-op Pharmacy has received reports of members being called. The callers are searching for private information based on prescriptions currently being filled by the store’s pharmacy department.

The Saskatchewan Music Festival Association has recommended the cancellation of all local festivals due to concerns about COVID-19. The Assiniboia and District Music Festival have therefore decided to follow this recommendation.

Unifor members were picketing the Â鶹´«Ã½AVland Co-op's Assiniboia Agro Centre on Highway Two on the morning of March 11, 2020. They were supporting the Unifor workers who have been locked out from the Co-op Refinery Complex in Regina since December 5.
