The Bantam Cougars began their series of provincial playoffs against the Balgonie Prairie Storm. The team traveled to Balgonie for Game #1 on January.30th. The Cougars have joined up with five players from Carnduff for our provincial team.

In a move to raise additional funds, while offering a fun and entertaining day, the Moose Mountain Lions Club is holding its first Winter Carnival on Feb. 19. The day, which is organized on Family Day weekend, starts at 9 a.m.

The notion that you sometimes get from city folk that rural people get special treatment has always been rather irksome. If anything, quite the opposite is true.

On Tuesday morning Feb. 1st Rhonda Donais who has been a performer and storyteller for over 20 years, visited Stoughton Library and entertained an audiance of school age children from grades 4, 5 and 6.

On February 5th, a few girls from the Carlyle Figure Skating attended the Weyburn Competition. There were over 250 skaters in this competition coming from all over Saskatchewan.

Last Wednesday Family Bingo was hit!! There were 70 people who came out to the family night, with lots of prizes to be won. Thanks to our grade 6 helpers Brooke, Brittany, Shoni, and Shanai for helping out.

For the past 2 weekends, the Pee Wee Cougars have sure been grateful to Roger Faford and Deb Chalus who have both served as guest Zamboni drivers during Pee Wee games. The kids of Carlyle are sure lucky to have people like Roger and Deb helping out.

Sadistic. Sadistic is a fitting word for the 24-year-old Victoria man who beat a 12-week-old pitt bull puppy to death in his hotel room.
