ESTEVAN — A show-cause hearing is scheduled for June 20 to determine whether a man charged with a homicide in Estevan earlier this year will be granted bail.

Evan Isbister's matter was heard June 16 in Estevan Provincial Court. It was noted at that time that he has the bail hearing slated for June 20 in Court of King's Bench in Estevan. He is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 60-year-old Todd Isbister.

Evan Isbister's attorney, Aleida Oberholzer, said she has received a judicial interim release report, and a request will be submitted for an update on electronic monitoring.

Outside of the bail hearing, Isbister's matters remain in Estevan Provincial Court. His next provincial court appearance is set for June 30.

Background: In a news release, the Estevan Police Service said that at approximately 8:46 p.m. on May 10, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1400-block of First Street. The caller reported an assault was taking place.
