ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service made arrests for drug possession and impaired driving June 16, and is investigating an incident in the area affected by the downtown revitalization.

EPS members conducted a search of a residence June 16. Pursuant to the individual's court-ordered conditions, police could carry out a warrantless search. Several grams of methamphetamine were located during the search and as a result, the individual was arrested, processed and released with additional charges for drug possession and failing to comply with release conditions.

Police located a male and female using drugs and consuming alcohol at a local park during the dayshift. Both were intoxicated and were on conditions to not consume drugs or alcohol. They were arrested, lodged in cells until sober and released on new charges of failing to comply with court-ordered conditions.

The EPS received a driving complaint regarding a near-hit incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. A collision didn't occur and no injuries resulted but the matter is under investigation.

A domestic assault was reported to the EPS during the dayshift. The matter remains under investigation.

A well-being check resulted in Estevan EMS and EPS members assisting a female to obtain medical assistance as she was unable to care for herself. She was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for additional treatment.

The EPS is investigating a collision between a white Dodge Ram truck and barricades located in the Fourth Street construction area. City employees observed the vehicle drive through several barricades, causing significant damage to them before exiting the construction zone. No injuries occurred as a result of the collision. The vehicle's licence plate, 651 NSS (Saskatchewan), was provided by city staff who observed the incident and the owner of the vehicle has been contacted. A suspect has been identified. Anyone observing the vehicle is asked to contact the EPS at 306-634-4767 to assist police in locating the driver.

A noise complaint in the central area of Estevan resulted in an individual being cautioned under the noise bylaw.

A traffic stop during nightshift was conducted in response to members tracking a vehicle on radar travelling 96 kilometres per hour in a 50km/h zone. Upon contact with the 21-year old female driver, an impaired driving investigation was initiated, during which time she provided two samples of breath with results of 0.11. She was subsequently charged with impaired driving and based on her behaviour during the investigation, she was lodged in cells until sober.
