鈥淚鈥檝e done touring as far as over the weekends kind of thing, playing different shows in different towns, but never this long and never during the week,鈥 said Goodvin. 鈥淭his will be a brand new experience for me, but I know I鈥檓 ready.鈥
Goodvin and Reid aren鈥檛 strangers to each other. They were both involved with a show at a rodeo in St. Albert, Alberta, a few years ago, and they collaborated on a song in Nashville.聽
鈥淲e didn鈥檛 reconnect until about a year and a half ago,鈥 said Goodvin.
Reid has taken the young musician under his wing, and the tour is part of the growing working relationship between the two.
The concert will mark the first time Goodvin has performed in Estevan, but he has passed through the city many times on the road from northern Alberta to Nashville.
Among the songs fans can expect to hear is Knock on Wood, the first song from his upcoming album.聽
鈥淭he album is full of songs that are about me and the way I look at life,鈥 said Goodvin. 鈥淚 feel like I鈥檝e been writing for this album for 10 years, so I鈥檓 really, really excited about getting something out there, and I think it鈥檚 polished with some really good stuff.鈥澛
Country music is among Goodvin鈥檚 first loves. Everyone in his family has musical talent, and they regularly sang songs around a campfire when he was young.
鈥淚 was introduced to country music at a very young age,鈥 said Goodvin. 鈥淲e always had country music on the radio station in the car. So I always loved music, and then I learned that I love to perform.鈥澛
He describes himself as self-taught when it comes to what he does on stage.聽
鈥淚 love what I do,鈥 said Goodvin. 鈥淚 love to write songs, I love to perform songs, I love to do interviews and I love to be on the road. There are so many things about the music industry that you really have to enjoy, and a lot of the stuff can be taxing.鈥澛
It has been tough to make inroads in the industry, and that鈥檚 a reality that hit him when he arrived in Nashville. He says he鈥檚 going to keep working hard so that he can fulfill the dreams he has for his musical career.聽
