Residents gather under the new gazebo along the Souris River for a hot dog lunch just prior to launch of the city's first-ever Duck Derby on Sunday afternoon, under cool and windy conditions. Organized by City of Weyburn employees as a fundraiser for Communithon, the raffle raised $3,415, with half of the proceeds, $1,707.50, going to the United Way, and the other half paid out to the top five ducks in the derby; the winners were, from first to fifth, Lisa Davis, $683; Jeff Richards, $341.50; Canada Post employees, $341.50; Brenda Braun, $170.75; and Charlene Keen, $170.75.
