The National Music Festival exceeded the expectations of McKenzie Warriner, not only in terms of what she experienced, but also her performance.

Estevan will be host to a one-night fundraiser, aiming to help those who are much less fortunate than many Canadians find themselves. The Duelling Pianos fundraiser will be held at the Power Dodge Curling Centre on Sept. 8, with doors opening at 6 p.

Estevan’s Souris Valley Theatre youth summer camps have come to their conclusion. The camps are designed as a way for young people to learn aspects of theatre, including acting, lighting, choreography, sound design and positive peer interaction.

Alice Cooper has been a household name in shock rock and roll for over 50 years, and he shows no signs of stopping any time soon. Cooper is slated to perform in Estevan on Aug.

Heat will delay the start time of the Pirate Heart musical Saturday, but the show will go on. The Pirate Heart musical written by Lampman’s Maureen Ulrich will be delayed tonight until 8 p.m. after heat threatened to cancel it for the night.

Alameda’s McKenzie Warriner finished second in the voice competition at the National Music Festival, which was held in Sackville, N.B., from Aug. 12-16.

Local young people will get the chance to showcase their theatre skills during a visit by the Missoula Children’s Theatre next month. The Snow Queen will be performed on Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Souris Valley Theatre’s Frehlick Hall.
