The Weyburn & District United Way will celebrate its 30th Annual Communithon beginning at 8:00 a.m. on October 21 and concluding the afternoon of October 22. This year's theme is "Let's Work Together" and as usual will run for the duration of 33 hours. A schedule of performances is available at www.weyburnunitedway.com/schedule.htm.
Communithon provides a number of opportunities to raise funds in a way that allows local talent to be showcased via local programming on television, internet and live on stage.
Member agencies benefitting from this year's fundraising proceeds include Canada Mental Health Association, Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Canadian Paraplegic Associations Inc., Canadian Red Cross, Saskatchewan Abilities Council, The Arthritis Society, Envision Counselling & Support Centre, Weyburn & Area Supportive Employment Services, Weyburn Big Brothers Big Sisters, Weyburn Care-A-Van Society and Weyburn Special Care Home Auxiliary.
Members of the community are encouraged to come out to support the cause. Of course, donations can be given during the Communithon but the Weyburn & District United Way accepts donations year-round via post to Box 608 Weyburn SK S4H 2K7.
