The Crescent Point Energy Wings Peewee "A" team has had a busy start to the hockey season. We have won seven out of eight games played. Our loss came when we traveled to Moose Jaw on November 14.

The Weyburn Bantam McDonalds Angels girl's hockey team will have the opportunity to play with international competitors on December 16. A female team from Russia will join the Angels at Crescent Point Place at 7 p.m.

The dynamic duo of pairs skating, Paige Lawrence and Rudi Swiegers, showed their talent yet again on the international stage as the two young athletes competed at the Cup of Russia competition.

On November 20th the Cougars went to Arcola, it was a close game, with goals being scored by Colby Cuddington, with assists from numerous players on the team. Kaysha Turner's Quick feet on Defense also helped keep us in the game.

Well that's that. The Saskatchewan Roughriders' Centennial season of 2010 ended in anti-climactic fashion with a 21-18 loss to the Montreal Alouettes in the 98th Grey Cup at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium on Sunday.

The Pee Wee Cougars travelled to Brandon last weekend to play in a 12 team tournament. The Cougars dominated their pool defeating the Brandon Bruins 13 to 2, and the Kenora Red Lions, in their yellow jerseys, 10 to 2.

A 12-year-old boy from Lumsden had the opportunity to help kick-off the 98th Grey Cup from on-field with the Saskatchewan Roughriders as the Scotiabank Kid Captain.

The Wings have taken their last three games serious and know that every game now counts towards their playoff run come the New Year. Weyburn has dispatched the Notre Dame Hounds, Estevan Bruins and now the Kindersley Klippers.

Hockey season is upon us once again. The Carlyle Bantam team is ready and excited to start the season with good times and good hockey. Taking on the coaching roles this year are Fritz Sauter and Clarke Lemieux.

Thirteen young people suffering from a life-threatening illness got the opportunity of a lifetime last week at the 2010 Grey Cup - Saskatchewan versus Montreal, thanks to the Chris Knox Foundation (CKF).
