Weyburn Credit Union is awarding over $70,000 to 14 local community groups who share WCU鈥檚 belief in making the community better, brighter, and stronger.

Grade 6 students at Legacy Park and Assiniboia Park schools were given the opportunity to prepare for band in Grade 7, as they first heard a concert by Weyburn Comp's senior band on Wednesday. On Friday, the Grade 6 students got to try out the instruments as they tried to decide which instruments to play in September. WCS band teacher Brayden Jensen brought Grade 9 band students along to help out.

Local charitable organizations received donations from the Weyburn Rotary Club at their luncheon meeting on Thursday.
