This is a view of Peru's "floating city" of Belen, which is a suburb of Iquitos, where Weyburn couple Michael and Karen Shastko recently spent a five-week missions trip, helping out the local people however they could.

Ross named SJHL player of the year

Ross named SJHL player of the year

Weyburn Red Wing forward Jesse Ross has been named the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's (SJHL) player of the year. Ross, who also earned the SJHL scoring title, lead the league in scoring with 46 goals and 45 assists in 56 games.

Police request help finding missing person

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of February 20 to 27: During the reporting period, police handled 90 calls for service. The winter conditions moving into the area contributed to several traffic accidents.

Weyburn to host high school provincial curling

Three SHSAA high school provincial curling championships will be contested on March 2-3. Weyburn will play host to both the boys and girls championships while Cabri will host the mixed championship at the Abbey curling rink.
