Residents of Weyburn have adapted well to using a new automated refuse system. The program was introduced a year ago.

A Regina-based developer, Nicor Developments, has submitted a proposal to develop the Souris Valley grounds, and Weyburn city council will be considering the proposal at their next meeting on Monday, Jan. 23.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of January 1 to 7, 2012: During the reporting period, police responded to a total of 69 calls for service.

The second semester started in early January at the Weyburn Comprehensive School and students are well into the new courses. Basketball, curling and wrestling are continuing.

The Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for the 28th Annual Induction, which will take place on August 18. The deadline for nominations is March 15.
