Weyburn lost another piece of history, as a demolition crew started to take down the historic Souris School building over the weekend. The school was built in 1910, and was closed a couple of years ago as the students were merged with those from Haig and Queen Elizabeth Schools into the new Legacy Park Elementary School.

It was special also because this was the last one to be organized by City administrative coordinator Wendy Neiszner, as she is taking retirement at the end of December, ending nearly 25 years of working for the City's Leisure Services department.

Music, goodies and fun crafts were all part of the evening at the Weyburn Public Library on Thursday, as they hosted their Cookies, Crafts and Carols event, with the RISE Choir from the Weyburn Comp, and a special drop-in by Santa Claus.

The staff and management of Jerry Mainil Ltd. donated $4,500 to the Salvation Army's food bank.

The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club plays bridge at the Wheatland Seniors Centre on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. and on Thursday afternoons at 1 p.m.

WEYBURN - The Wheatland Seniors Centre will hold their month-end supper as the Christmas supper on Friday, Dec. 16 at 5:30 p.m., featuring turkey and all the trimmings.
