The grandstands were full once more for the Weyburn Fair's demo derby

Thunderstorm watches were issued Sunday afternoon.

The Souris River Rodeo was back as part of the Weyburn Fair on Friday night and Saturday, for the first time since 2019, with a full slate of cowboys and cowgirls taking part in a full range of events, from bareback and saddle bronc to team roping, barrel-racing, roping break-away, steer wrestling and bull-riding.

The midway and barrel-racing were the top features for the Weyburn Fair as it opened up on Thursday evening at the Weyburn fair grounds, along with food vendors and knocker balls.

The U18 Beavers will play a doubleheader versus White Butte on July 9.

Team Canada starts off against Chinese Taipei on July 9 at the World Softball Championships.

The Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop won for best Business float, and the Canadian Mental Health Association won for best Organization float.

The perennial favourite for families to see and participate in is the pig scramble on the fair grounds.

Livestock producers now have seven per cent of the hay crop cut and two per cent has been baled or put into silage.

Carlee Sanheim gave the Valedictorian address, followed by the presentation of awards.
