The Weyburn Police Service received 83 calls for service during the week of March 15 to 21, resulting in two adults being charged under the Criminal Code of Canada for theft, and 31 tickets being issued under the Traffic Safety Act .

Due to increased COVID-19 transmission risk in Regina and area, the following amendments are being made to the public health order. This local public health order will remain in effect until April 5, 2021, and reviewed at that time.

There are 150 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on March 23, bringing the provincial total to 31,991 cases.

Weyburn鈥檚 city council approved two applications for cannabis outlets in the city鈥檚 downtown core at their meeting on Monday evening, held by Zoom.

Huge impact on Weyburn community, businesses

The Salvation Army is continuing to serve the needs of the community in Weyburn, with the COVID-19 pandemic making those needs even more acute in the past year, members of the Weyburn Rotary Club heard at their zoom lunch meeting on Thursday.

There are 205 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on March 22, bringing the provincial total to 31,842 cases. There is one new COVID case in the Weyburn area, and five active cases, with 78 active cases in the southeast region.

Saskatchewan K-12 schools across the province are currently being shipped 100,000 rapid tests. Rapid testing for COVID-19 in schools may begin as early as this week.

The Weyburn Arts Council (WAC) found new, innovative ways to promote and celebrate art in the community in the past year, while having many of their regular programs and events cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
