For the second day in a row, Saskatchewan has only one new confirmed case of COVID-19 as of May 17, bringing the provincial total to 592. The new case is in the Far North region. Of the 592 reported cases, 142 are considered active.

The Saskatchewan Country Music Association awards were presented in a virtual broadcast on Saturday evening, and Weyburn’s Tenille Arts came away with two awards.

The Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division honoured a number of staff and one trustee for their years of service.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has begun to implement their temporary conversion of rural community emergency rooms in the province starting off with seven, with another five to be utilized in remaining phases.
