The Canora Eurotrip club has reconvened to prepare for a new trip in 2026 with a new group wanting to travel.

There were homemade treats for pretty much everyone at the UCWL, Canora branch Christmas tea and bake sale at the Ukrainian Catholic Hall on Dec. 7.

Canora Junior Elementary students who finished in the top three in various categories in the 2024 Royal Canadian Legion Remembrance Day Poster Contest were recently rewarded for their achievements.

Police investigated and learned a Ford Edge was traveling southbound and slowed down to turn when a Nissan Sentra drove into the back of the vehicle. The driver of the Sentra was charged.

One of the biggest cheers of the evening came when it was announced that the Cobras were donated the proceeds of the game’s 50/50 draw to the two Canora families that recently lost their homes to fire.

Funds raised at this event will go towards upgrades to the Fair Grounds power grid and the construction of the new beer gardens pole shed for the Invermay Fair in August. 

A cabaret was held in support of the Rewakowsky family and the Keinick family, who both lost their homes in a recent fire.

Students and staff at Canora Junior Elementary School showed their gratitude to their bus drivers during Saskatchewan Bus Driver Appreciation Day.

With Christmas fast approaching, cash donations are urgently needed to help fill Christmas hampers.

The snow was flying as hardworking crews were cleaning up Canora streets after the recent dump of snow.
