One of the highlights each year for the young and the young at heart alike is Fill the Sleigh day, scheduled for the Red Apple Store on Dec. 7, part of the Canora Yuletide Toy Drive.

Prior to a meeting at the Canora Ukrainian Heritage Museum, members were served a paltry lunch of crackers and tea, as a way of paying tribute to those who suffered during the 1932-33 Holodomor in Ukraine.

The Cobras kicked off their season in Churchbridge on Friday, and skated away with a 6-3 win. Coach Darren Schwartz said he was pleased with how his team started the season.

The annual Nov. 11 Remembrance Day service at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine was attended by many residents from Rama and the surrounding area.

A male suspect was identified by police for the Nov. 14 theft and the investigation is ongoing.

At 11 a.m., two minutes of silence was observed by those at the service. The silence was followed by the playing of Rouse.

All in attendance at the Remembrance Day church service at the St. Joseph鈥檚 Roman Catholic Church in Canora were encouraged to 鈥渉elp move our world one step closer to the peace of God鈥檚 Kingdom.鈥�

The guest speaker was Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Ciesielski, who was born and raised in Canora before joining the Royal Canadian Air Force almost 35 years ago.
