A significant wind storm on October 17-18 created a variety of challenges for Canora residents and Town of Canora employees. According to Environment Canada, wind gusts in Canora reached as high as 85 km/h.

Canora Composite School (CCS) athletes competed at the Cherrydale cross-country district meet near Yorkton on October 5. In the beginner boys two-kilometre race, involving 37 runners, Rhett Ludba finished second in a personal best time of 8:59.
