SHSAA Conference Senior Girls’ Volleyball Championships were held around the province Nov. 6 and 7, and Maymont hosted the 1A for this region. Competing for the chance to go on to regionals were Borden, Blaine Lake, Canwood, Maymont and Medstead.

If you are a Friday-the-13th-superstitious-kind of folk, then hide under your covers this Nov. 13. We are at mid-November already. The community is gearing up for some busy days ahead with multiple activities on the horizon.

MAIDSTONE I’ve missed a couple of weeks of news due to visiting and medical appointments, so now I will try to catch up. Colleen was at Rylie and Chantal’s for supper Sunday night. Chantal and Colleen were shoppers in Lloydminster.

The theme for this week has been remembrance. Elementary students wrote essays and drew posters to hang in the gym during the Remembrance Day Service. Bulletin boards were created to honour the veterans and service people who fought in the wars.

MAIDSTONE — Maidstone Gully 4-H Club held a second general meeting Nov. 2. Project and committee reports were given. We decided on our calendar of events for the year. November is National 4-H month. We will be doing a battery drive Nov. 12.
