From +27 C to -27 C and catching up on the local news

My wife and I boarded the plane Feb. 11 at 27 C, a pleasant ocean breeze and palm trees waving their goodbyes. Eight hours later we landed to -27 C with a fresh westerly wind, snowflakes falling and snow banks as a welcome back.

Street cleanup crew deserves pat on the back

Cribbage was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre Jan. 27 with high score going to Denise Newton and low to Dorothy Schwartz, who also supplied lunch. Bingo was played Jan. 29 with Jean Hartman and Shannon Smith doing the calling.
