The size of the school may be small, but the heart and pride in the players in huge. Borden competed in the 1A boys' provincial volleyball championship on the weekend in Broadview and Whitewood and came away with a silver medal.

Thursday marked the beginning of the largest high school basketball tournament in Saskatchewan, the Bowlt Classic Tournament. The North Battleford Comprehensive High School senior boys team faced Bedford Road at Bethlehem and won 65-46.

Muenster was the scene of much hitting, bumping and spiking over the weekend as the school hosted the 2011 2A boys' Provincial Volleyball tournament.

Woody Klassen has been back in the Battlefords for just nine games and has six goals and five assists since rejoining the team.

On the weekend of November 19, the Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI) senior girls Volleyball team headed to Rosetown for provincials. It was a tough tournament, but in the end, the girls came away with the silver medal.

It didn't take long for the Battlefords North Stars to take control of their 30th game of the season against the Estevan Bruins Tuesday night at the Civic Centre.

The Humboldt Broncos ventured north last week and came home with a win and a shootout loss. The Broncos played the LaRonge Ice Wolves in front of 559 fans in LaRonge on November 22, and ended up on the winning end of a 6-5 score.

A Humboldt product will be heading south to play volleyball in the fall. Setter Lindsey Larson has been signed to play with the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) women's volleyball team in the 2012 season.

December 1 is the cutdown date for SJHL roster so it could be a busy month. The North Stars have nine games on the schedule for this month before a 13-day break between games for the holiday break. Friday, Dec. 2 - North Stars at Melville, 7:30 p.m.

In Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League action Wednesday night Saulteaux lost a close one on home ice against the Perdue Pirates. The Pirates won 10-9 for their second win of the season. Saulteaux falls to 0-2-0-1 on the season.
