Seven members of the Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI) Mohawks nine-man football team were honoured at the Saskatchewan Grid Iron Awards banquet held November 4 in Martensville.

For the first time in a few seasons the Maymont senior hockey team is 2-0. The Settlers played in Radisson Saturday and, with former Maymont Blues on both sides, the current Maymont team pulled out the 8-4 win.

The basketball season in the Humboldt region was kicked off on December 3-4 with a tournament in Middle Lake. The Three Lakes Avengers' senior boys' basketball team hosted their annual tournament on the weekend.

After a 2-4 record and a first round playoff loss for the senior Vikings and a 3-0 record for the junior Vikings it was time to honour the players and coaches for the season that was.

The netminders of the Battlefords AAA Sharks had their hands more than full against the Notre Dame Hounds on the weekend in Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League action.

Not only is the SJHL Showcase a chance for individual players to put their skills on display, but it also gives teams an opportunity to make up some ground in the standings as all SJHL teams play two games on the weekend under one roof.

The Battlefords Stars played two more games without a new head coach on the bench, and have now finally announced who their new bench boss will be for the remainder of the season.
