As fall moves into winter, it is a great idea to grow something inside that is easy, economical and, of course, edible. Now that it is a bit chilly to enjoy being outside for long periods of time, it is nice to grow something inside.

Years ago, we knew a young fellow who used to love to say grace before meals. No matter how briefly or fervently he prayed he always added this comment: 鈥淎nd dear God, help our food to turn to energy and not fat.

The biggest problem is in food processing. Across the country, companies are struggling to recruit. Incentives may be required

I鈥檇 have made a crummy pioneer woman. Oh, I could鈥檝e cooked and cleaned alright, and milking cows and caring for livestock wouldn鈥檛 have been a problem.

I told Ed, my old neighbour in Saskatchewan, that our pastor had a great sermon on anger. Anger and I are too often friends. Ed commented that it would have been better if our pastor had spoken on stupidity, which causes most irritation.

Lately I鈥檝e been mulling over the power of a number of specific kinds of words known as conjunctions. These seven short words, 鈥渇or, and, nor, but, or, yet and so鈥� can change the entire meaning of a statement.

鈥淥ne day a professor told his students he was giving them a surprise test and proceeded to hand out papers with only a blue dot near the bottom of the page. 鈥淚 want you to write about what you see here鈥�.

The year 2020. It鈥檚 been strange, unusual and now it seems like the year has flown by without us even realizing it.
