Once again, Canora and area residents showed their support for Fill the Sleigh Day at The Bargain Shop, as part of the annual Canora Ambulance Yuletide Toy Drive.

Crossroads Credit Union presented a cheque in the amount of $3,000 to the Canora Composite School (CCS) Community Council on December 5.

The Canora Nursery School Trade Show was held on December 2 at the Legion Dugout, as a fundraiser for the school.

A total of 14 sets of antlers were brought in for the annual antler measuring of the Canora branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, from animals brought down by experienced hunters as well as those just getting started in the sport.

An exciting Canora Atom White hockey tournament was held on November 25 and 26. It featured teams from Kamsack, Preeceville, Langenburg, Esterhazy, Swan Valley and the hosts team, Canora Atom White, said Kent Hembling, coach.

An audience of about 100 drama enthusiasts that took in the Canora Composite School (CCS) peewee drama presentation of Jack and the Sillies appeared to thoroughly enjoy the performance.

In what was described by organizers as a very successful kick-off for Canora’s Winter Lights Festival, Canora residents took full advantage of the sleigh rides offered on November 27, going for a total of 36 rides over three hours.
