Borden and W.W. Brown school grads can apply for Lions scholarship

Borden Lions Scholarship 2013 - 2014: A scholarship of approximately $500 will once again be made possible by the Borden Lions and the former Langham Lions.

Louisiana Hayride enjoyable outing

Saturday, Marion Staughton took Jean Stewart, Tillie Linkert, Hazel MacEachern and I to Lloydminster to the Louisiana Hayride at the Vic Juba centre. It was a great evening and the music and singers were terrific. We all enjoyed it very much.

Keeping warm with cards and bingo

I have been away on a most enjoyable three-week holiday at my daughter Linda and Larry Fiddler's in Medicine Hat. Cards were played at the Maidstone Drop in Centre Oct 7. High score went to Tillie Linkert and low to Jean Stewart. Oct.

Pumpkin carving for kids of all ages, from 2 to 72, was held at Paynton library. The carvers have a great time every year and get together for a harvest-style supper afterwards.

Maymont Central School fall sports teams have completed their seasons. The senior boys' soccer team attended the 1A provincial playoffs in Middle Lake Friday. They had two really close matches. Their first match was against Lake Lenore.
