The list of candidates who submitted nomination papers to Weyburn’s City Hall as of 4 p.m. on Wednesday are as follows, when nominations closed. These candidates will not be official until 4 p.m. on Oct.

A new candidate is entering the city council race for Weyburn, as Dr. John Corrigan will be putting his nomination papers in before the close of nominations today, Oct. 7.

The voters in the City of Weyburn will have a selection of names in the 2020 municipal election, with the deadline for nominations by end of day today, Oct. 7. The following are the candidates who have filed as of Tuesday.

Two new candidates for Weyburn city council have filed their nomination papers, Casey Drullette, and Melanie Sorensen, who is also running for re-election to the Â鶹´«Ã½AVeast Cornerstone school board.

A three-term former mayor of Weyburn and two-term councillor, Debra Button, has put her name in to run for Weyburn city council, along with former businessman John Lawrence, a first-time candidate.

Jeff Chessall will not seek re-election

There will be a mayoral race in the 2020 municipal election for the City of Weyburn, as incumbent Marcel Roy announced on Monday he will be seeking re-election, running against declared mayoral candidate Nick Coroluick.

The period of nominations for mayor or councillor for Weyburn’s city council will open on Tuesday, Sept. 22, and will close Wednesday, Oct. 7, with the civic election day to be held on Nov. 9.
