Two familiar faces in local politics, former councillor Laura Morrissette and former school board trustee and former police officer Dana Pretzer, have both announced their intentions to run for Weyburn鈥檚 city council.

A nine-year veteran of Weyburn鈥檚 city council, Winston Bailey, has decided he will not run for re-election in the municipal elections to be held on Nov. 9, while current councillors Jeff Richards and Mel Van Betuw will be running again.

A former Weyburn city councillor and businessman, Nick Coroluick, is letting his name stand for the position of mayor in this fall鈥檚 municipal election.

Weyburn city council approved the plans set in place for this fall鈥檚 municipal elections, which will be held on the new date of Nov. 9.
